Driven by the will to create new two-row barley cultivars, committed also in the selection and control of raw materials and process technologies, right from the start Agroalimentare Sud established contacts and co-operations in the research sector with some of the most important operators in the scientific and industrial world, both nationally and internationally.

Particularly relevant in this sense, the three-year project financed by the Ministero dell’Università e della Ricerca Scientifica e Tecnologica (Ministry of University and Scientific and Technological Research) on the use of enriched raw barley in bio-active compounds for the production of functional foods.

Agronomic Research

Optimization of raw materials is therefore the nodal point for reaching the final objectives. For this reason Agroalimentare Sud is constantly focussed on the evolution and news of the seed world.

Test fields are realized according to criteria that allow to highlight the aptitude of the individual varieties to be used in specific productions.

Analytical Research

The passion and experience acquired in the various research carried out, led Agroalimentare Sud to take over ISTA-IVS S.r.l. in Lodi, a primary research company working in the field of genetic breeding of vegetable species in the Parco Tecnologico Padano in Lodi, with first class researchers and laboratories integrated in a global quality system, holders of UNI EN ISO 9001 certification and cutting-edge equipment, confirming Agroalimentare Sud as an extremely important company in the creation and selection of cereals and maize hybrids of, as well as in the selection and marketing of seeds of winter cereals (wheat, barley, triticale, rye), sunflower, sorghum, soybean, rapeseed, rice, fodder plants, etc. A business that is supported by routine analytical activities for more reliable and enhanced production control.
